20 April 2022
Victoria is now almost 70% triple vaccinated.
What an achievement! A huge thank you to everyone across our community who rolled up their sleeves to ensure our community is protected from COVID-19.
Thanks to all who have had their booster, we can ease restrictions once again from 11.59pm Friday 22nd April.
Patrons won’t be required to have two doses or show their vaccination status before entering any venue.
Check-in requirements using the Service Victoria app will end.
Masks will no longer be required in primary schools, early childhood, hospitality and retail settings, or at events of any size. Masks will no longer be required for workers, visitors or students at schools or for workers and visitors at early childcare centres, workers at hospitality and retail venues or at events with 30,000or more attendees. Masks are still required on public transport.
Close contacts will no longer have to quarantine – provided they wear a mask indoors and avoid sensitive settings. They will instead need to undertake at least five negative rapid tests over seven days.
All visitor restrictions in hospitals will be removed, except for mask requirements. Health services are able to tailor their own settings where necessary.
Events with more than 30,000 people will no longer require public health pre-approval.
Although recommended, international travelers who are symptom-free will not be required to get a PCR or rapid test on arrival, and unvaccinated travelers will no longer complete 7 days’ quarantine.
