A final reminder that applications to the Suburban Rail Loop's Community Projects Fund soon close at 11.59pm on Thursday 26th May, 2022.
Not-for-profit organisations, sports clubs and schools able to apply for grants between $10,000 and $80,000, with the first to be awarded later this year.
The $250 million SRL Community Projects Fund will give local community groups and councils the opportunity to deliver exciting new initiatives and projects along the SRL East corridor from Cheltenham to Box Hill.
The new fund will deliver local projects to communities from Cheltenham to Box Hill while SRL East is being built so communities along the line will start to see the benefits of the project long before any trains hit the tracks.
This is a tremendous opportunity for groups locally and this is a great time to start having conversations within your organisation and amongst your members about what you might potentially apply for.
Eligible projects could include:
- Tree plantings at a local reserve;
- Gardening equipment for a community garden;
- Sporting club equipment; or
- Support for community events and festivals.
Funding rounds will be offered each year during construction for exciting new initiatives and projects both big and small.
