Box Hill is getting a Priority Primary Care Centre! 

Our nation’s emergency departments are busier than ever – but not every patient needs the same level of emergency care.

Working in partnership with Box Hill Hospital, the PPCC will be GP-led and be an alternative to the emergency department to ease some of the pressure.

It will be there to treat urgent conditions such as infections, fractures and burns and offer pathology and imaging services.

We know that these are often the types of injuries and concerns that require urgent attention for both children and adults - but don’t need the same level of care as more complex concerns such as acute heart or respiratory illness, or major accidents.

It will free up much needed capacity for Box Hill Hospital’s emergency department and at the same time give those less complex cases the urgent care they need.
